Less Blast. More Control. Made in South Africa.

A suppressor reduces the muzzle blast, report and flash of a rifle, making it more comfortable to shoot and less disruptive to everyone around you. This range starts with the locally made Special Air QD Spectre 4 — a short, light, full-auto-rated flow-through suppressor for 5.56mm carbines and 7.62mm SLRs.

What a Suppressor Does — and Doesn't Do

A well-made suppressor is designed to reduce felt recoil, reduce the sound signature of the shot, and reduce muzzle flash — so the rifle is more comfortable to shoot, and the shooter's position is far less visible in low light and at night.

What it doesn't do is make a rifle silent. Supersonic ammunition still produces a sonic crack in flight, and a suppressed rifle remains loud enough to damage hearing — so you still need proper hearing protection every time you shoot.

Why Flow-Through Design Matters on a Semi-Auto Rifle

On a semi-automatic rifle, a suppressor can push extra gas back toward the receiver and the shooter's face. Special Air states that the Spectre's flow-through design redirects gas forward and is built to prevent blowback and over-pressurisation, giving a smoother, more comfortable shooting experience even without an adjustable gas block.

Choosing Your Calibre, Thread and Colour
  • Calibre — available in 5.56mm or 7.62mm. Choose the one that matches your rifle. If you choose a size that's too small for your rifle's calibre, the bullet can strike the inside of the suppressor instead of passing cleanly through it — damaging the suppressor and putting you at risk.
  • Thread — the Spectre is machined to fit standard SLR thread patterns. Confirm your rifle's thread before ordering; if you're not sure, ask us.
  • Quick-detach brake — a true QD muzzle brake is included, so the suppressor can come off and go back on quickly.
  • Running one suppressor on multiple rifles — choose the calibre of the largest-calibre rifle you own, and fit a quick-detach muzzle brake to each rifle you want to use it on. Ask the Noctis Africa team about additional QD muzzle brakes, and about the right configuration if you shoot both 5.56mm and 7.62mm rifles.
  • Colour — Black or FDE.
