Restock the Essentials. Stay Mission Ready.
A focused six-piece refill kit for replenishing the core trauma-care contents of an Individual First Aid Kit. It combines equipment for severe extremity bleeding, penetrating chest trauma, wound packing and pressure dressing, with a clinically proven hemostatic gauze alongside standard compressed gauze, and an advanced decompression device reserved for appropriately trained and authorised users.
Contents only; pouch not included
Only for users trained in IFAK equipment and emergency trauma care
Product Overview
Medical consumables expire, packaging can become damaged, and equipment used during training or a real incident must be replaced. This refill kit provides a practical way to restore the primary trauma-care capability of an existing IFAK without purchasing another pouch.
The contents support a recognised trauma-care sequence: controlling catastrophic external bleeding, managing an open chest wound, packing and dressing serious wounds with both standard compressed gauze and a clinically proven hemostatic agent, and providing an advanced airway-and-respiration intervention where clinically indicated by an appropriately qualified responder.
Kit Contents
Generation 4 windlass tourniquet with a 38 mm (1.5 in) strap, alloy hardware and quick-compression buckle for severe extremity bleeding control.
Compact vented chest-seal pair intended for treating entry and exit wounds associated with penetrating chest trauma.
Standard (non-hemostatic) compressed gauze for packing deep wounds and supporting direct-pressure bleeding control, alongside the hemostatic gauze included in this kit.
Clinically proven hemostatic gauze for rapidly controlling severe or life-threatening bleeding. Recommended by the US Committee on TCCC and used by first responder units worldwide; independent meta-analysis found a statistically significant survival improvement over alternative agents, most pronounced in the more severely injured. Safe for use on patients on anticoagulant therapy or with trauma-induced coagulopathy.
Compact trauma dressing for applying and maintaining pressure over a wound after initial bleeding-control measures.
Advanced device intended for appropriately trained and authorised medical responders managing suspected tension pneumothorax.
Capability Breakdown
| Capability | Included Component | Intended Role |
|---|---|---|
| Extremity haemorrhage | SOF-T Wide tourniquet | Mechanical control of life-threatening bleeding from an arm or leg. |
| Penetrating chest wound | HyFin Vent Compact twin pack | Two seals allow coverage of entry and exit wounds. |
| Deep-wound bleeding | Compressed gauze | Packs a wound cavity so focused pressure can be applied, for wounds that don't require a hemostatic agent. |
| Severe or rapid bleeding | CELOX™ Hemostatic Gauze | Clinically proven to help control severe bleeding faster, including where bleeding must be stopped rapidly under difficult conditions. |
| Pressure and wound coverage | MD4 trauma bandage | Secures a dressing and maintains pressure over the injury. |
| Advanced chest intervention | ARS 14 ga × 3.25 in device | Needle decompression by a qualified responder when clinically indicated for suspected tension pneumothorax. |
Essential vs Advanced — Which Refill Kit Do You Need?
| Component / Capability | Essential | Advanced (this kit) |
|---|---|---|
| Tourniquet | SOF-T Wide Tactical Tourniquet | SOF-T Wide Tactical Tourniquet |
| Penetrating chest wound | HyFin Vent Compact Twin Pack | HyFin Vent Compact Twin Pack |
| Wound packing | Compressed gauze | Compressed gauze plus CELOX™ Hemostatic Gauze — clinically shown to improve survival in severe bleeding |
| Pressure dressing | MD4 Trauma Bandage | MD4 Trauma Bandage |
| Tension pneumothorax | Not included | ARS Needle Decompression Device (14 ga × 3.25 in) — trained/authorised users only |
| Total components | 4 | 6 |
| Minimum training level | Standard IFAK / first-aid trauma training | Standard IFAK training, plus specific clinical training and authorisation for needle decompression |
The Advanced kit builds on Essential with two specific additions: CELOX™ hemostatic gauze — kept alongside standard compressed gauze, not in place of it, so you have the right option for the wound in front of you — for bleeds that need to be stopped rapidly, for example where a responder is managing other life-threatening injuries simultaneously or operating under direct threat, and a needle decompression device for suspected tension pneumothorax, which is only appropriate for personnel with the specific training and authorisation to perform that procedure. If you are not trained in needle decompression, the Essential kit gives you full core capability at a lower cost, without including equipment you are not authorised to use.
Important Medical & Safety Information
Needle thoracostomy is an invasive procedure with serious risks if performed incorrectly. It must only be used by personnel whose training, scope of practice and applicable regulations authorise the procedure. Inclusion in this kit does not constitute medical training or authorisation.
Inspect seals and sterile packaging regularly, record expiry dates, and replace any item that is expired, opened, contaminated, damaged or used for training. Seek accredited trauma-first-aid instruction before carrying equipment you may need to deploy under stress.
