Product Overview
The NS-S3A Level IIIA soft-armour panel provides lightweight, flexible protection against common handgun-calibre threats when used on its own. It's the largest of Noctis's soft-armour options — ideally suited to covert carrier use, offering the most concealed way to carry ballistic protection under a shirt, jacket, or other undergarment, whilst still allowing it to be thrown on the outside for an overt setup.
For enhanced rifle protection, it can be paired with the Noctis NSICW3+ hard plate, positioned in front of the soft-armour panel with the marked strike face facing outward. Together, the two components form a tested ICW armour system designed to defeat commonly found III+ rifle threats — a scalable upgrade path rather than a whole new purchase.
Constructed from multiple layers of woven aramid fibre, the panel's fibres catch and deform a projectile on impact, spreading its energy across a wider area. Aramid soft armour is a proven, flexible choice with decades of operational use — offering strong multi-hit capability, good fragmentation performance and excellent heat resistance, at a more cost-effective price point than premium UHMWPE alternatives.

Noctis application note: Hybrid Setup Versatility and Cost Efficiency both score well here because the NS-S3A is the affordable starting point of the system — you buy this panel once, and can add the NSICW3+ plate later only if and when rifle protection is actually needed, rather than paying for both up front. On its own, the NS-S3A defeats pistol and fragmentation threats only — it provides no rifle protection whatsoever unless paired with the NSICW3+, hence the zero-star entry for rifle-threat use alone. That's a hard requirement, not a fault in the panel.

The right choice depends on the threat you're equipping for and how much weight/bulk you're willing to carry to defeat it.
