ENTRY LEVEL1-4x24 SFP LPVO

Lighter Build. Proper BDC Reticle.

The Vortex Crossfire® HD 1-4x24 refines the entry-level Crossfire formula — genuinely lighter than the Crossfire II at a similar price, with a proper Dead-Hold BDC reticle offering real holdover reference points rather than a simple crosshair.

✓ BUY IF

  • You want the lightest LPVO in the Vortex range — genuinely useful for reducing rifle weight up front.
  • You want a proper BDC reticle with real holdover points, not just a plain illuminated crosshair.
  • You're equipping a close-to-mid-range hunting rifle or general-purpose carbine on a budget.
  • You want illumination with off-positions between brightness settings for quick recall of your preferred level.

• NOT IDEAL IF

  • You want a genuinely daylight-bright illuminated dot — like the Crossfire II, this is a low-light illumination system, not a daylight-visible one.
  • You need MIL/LE or competition-grade turret travel and tracking precision — the higher tiers are built for that demand.
  • You want an exposed tactical turret for rapid field dialing.

↗ CONSIDER

  • Crossfire® II 1-4x24 if a simple crosshair reticle suits your needs better than a BDC design.
  • Venom® 1-6x24 SFP if you want more magnification reach and a tactically-tuned AR-BDC3 reticle.
  • Viper® PST™ Gen II 1-6x24 if you want MIL/LE-recommended durability and a slightly more refined optical system.
Product Overview

The Crossfire® HD 1-4x24 is the very definition of a low-power variable optic: fast, both-eyes-open target acquisition at low power, with the ability to hold or dial for longer shots when hunting, competing, or in tactical use.

Its HD optical system uses select glass elements to deliver genuine resolution, reduced chromatic aberration, and strong colour fidelity. The illuminated Dead-Hold® 2A BDC reticle pairs a floating centre dot with practical holdover points for varying ranges, offering more usable ballistic reference than a plain crosshair.

Built on an aircraft-grade aluminium 30mm tube with a low-glare matte black anodized finish, the Crossfire HD is nitrogen-purged for waterproof, fogproof performance — genuinely lightweight and compact for a carbine or hunting rifle where agility matters.

Turret configurations vary across the range. Most models use capped turrets to help prevent accidental adjustment, while adjustment graduations and total travel differ by model and reticle configuration. "Daylight-bright" illumination — genuinely visible in direct sunlight, functioning like a red dot at 1x — is explicitly confirmed by Vortex for the Razor and AMG lines; other models offer illuminated reticles that are daylight-usable but not marketed with this specific claim.

Reticle & Sight Picture

The Illuminated Dead-Hold® 2A BDC reticle pairs the trusted holdover and windage guidance of Vortex's Dead-Hold BDC design with an illuminated floating centre dot for fast, precise aiming in low light.

The reticle gives genuine holdover reference points for varying distances — useful for hunters and shooters who want ballistic reference without stepping up to a full tactical BDC system.
