The Spitfire™ AR was designed around one very specific job: fast, precise shooting at close distances with the added security of an etched prism reticle. At 1× magnification it retains the speed expected from a close-quarters optic, while the DRT reticle remains visible even when illumination is switched off or the battery is exhausted.

Unlike a conventional LED red dot, the aiming pattern is physically etched into the prism. Vortex specifically notes that this design is preferred by shooters with astigmatism. The Spitfire AR is a single 1× prism configuration built around the DRT (MOA) etched reticle. The reticle can be illuminated in either red or green, so you do not need to choose a separate red-dot or green-dot SKU.
