Maximum Reach. Plus Room for a Red Dot.
The Vortex Spitfire™ HD Gen II 5× extends the same battery-independent, astigmatism-friendly prism design further — with a built-in MRDS mounting platform on top, letting you piggyback a genuine 1× red dot for the best of both worlds.

Product Overview
The Spitfire™ HD Gen II 5× extends the redesigned HD optical platform to a higher fixed magnification, striking a balance between the speed of a red dot and the precision of a traditional scope. Its etched-glass AR-BDC4 reticle remains visible with or without illumination, tuned to the 5.56 cartridge for holdovers out to 650 yards.
Uniquely among the Spitfire range, the 5× model includes a built-in MRDS mounting platform on top of the main housing — compatible with the Vortex Viper® 6 MOA (VRD-6) or Venom® 3 MOA (VMD-3103) red dots. This allows a true 1× close-quarters solution to sit directly above the 5× prism, giving genuinely flexible close-to-mid-range capability in a single mounted system.
12 brightness settings (2 night-vision compatible), a single-piece aluminium chassis with a hard-anodized matte finish, and full waterproof, fogproof and shockproof construction round out a scope built for serious use across hunting, tactical, and competitive applications.

Magnifier accessories — Micro3X (3×, 2.64in/67mm eye relief), Micro6X (6×, 2.5in/64mm eye relief), and VMX-3T (3×, 2.2in/56mm eye relief — the shortest in the range) — pair with any red dot or holographic sight in this lineup, including the UH-1, for extended reach. They are not recommended for use with the Spitfire prism scopes, which already carry fixed magnification.
Reticle & Sight Picture
The AR-BDC4 reticle is etched directly onto the prism glass and built specifically to get the most out of the 5.56 cartridge — providing both rapid target acquisition and precise holdovers out to 650 yards, visible with or without illumination.
Because the reticle is etched rather than projected, it eliminates the starburst or streaking pattern that shooters with astigmatism sometimes experience with standard red dots. With the optional MRDS-mounted red dot in place, the shooter gains a second, independent aiming reference for true 1× close-range engagement.
Reticle: AR-BDC4, etched glass | Calibration: 5.56 cartridge, holdovers to 650 yards
