Product Overview
The Vortex Veil™ 400 is a compact handheld thermal monocular designed to extend observation capability beyond daylight. Its 400×300 thermal detector uses a fine 12 μm pixel pitch, paired with a 1024×768 OLED display and 50 Hz refresh rate for clear, fluid thermal viewing.
A 2.3× base magnification provides a useful balance between field of view and target identification, with 1×, 2× and 4× digital zoom available when additional magnification is required. Four thermal colour palettes and three dedicated viewing modes allow the image to be adapted to different terrain, vegetation, humidity and temperature conditions.
Photo and video capture, an integrated compass, rechargeable 18650 power, tripod compatibility and rugged waterproof, fogproof and shockproof construction make the Veil 400 a versatile field observation tool for night hunting, scouting and general thermal detection.

Detection range is the distance at which a human-sized heat signature can be detected (not necessarily identified) under favourable conditions. Sensor resolution, pixel pitch and display quality also meaningfully affect real-world image clarity — a longer detection range does not automatically mean a clearer or more usable image at that distance.
