Product Overview
The Vortex Venom® 1-6x24 is a versatile tool for modern tactical carbine users, offering true 1-6x magnification, a consistent large reticle, and illuminated aiming for fast target acquisition. The Venom combines an XD optical system, wide field of view and AR-BDC3 reticle in an accessible 1-6x platform.
The AR-BDC3 reticle is specifically tuned to common 5.56 loads out of an AR-15 — a 1 MOA centre dot sits within a 16.625 MOA broken circle for rapid target acquisition, with BDC reference marks out to 650 yards when used with compatible loads and an appropriately verified zero. A 30mm single-piece tube and capped turrets (1/4 MOA adjustment, 25 MOA travel per rotation) round out a genuinely capable close-to-mid-range package.
XD extra-low dispersion glass increases resolution and colour fidelity, while fully multi-coated lenses and ArmorTek exterior coating support genuine field durability. Nitrogen-purged for waterproof, fogproof performance, the Venom is built for tactical, competition, and duty use.

Turret configurations vary across the range. Most models use capped turrets to help prevent accidental adjustment, while adjustment graduations and total travel differ by model and reticle configuration. "Daylight-bright" illumination — genuinely visible in direct sunlight, functioning like a red dot at 1x — is explicitly confirmed by Vortex for the Razor and AMG lines; other models offer illuminated reticles that are daylight-usable but not marketed with this specific claim.
Reticle & Sight Picture
The illuminated, glass-etched AR-BDC3 reticle is specifically tuned to the ballistic performance of common 5.56 loads out of an AR-15. A 1 MOA centre dot provides a precise point of aim, while the surrounding 16.625 MOA broken circle pulls the eye into the centre faster for rapid target acquisition.
BDC reference marks provide holdover points out to 650 yards with compatible 5.56 ammunition, when used with an appropriately verified zero — actual impacts must be confirmed with your rifle and ammunition, giving genuine ballistic reference without needing a full first focal plane system.
Reticle: AR-BDC3, etched glass | Calibration: 5.56 cartridge, holdovers to 650 yards
